Beijing will open commercialization pilots for intelligent driving
Recently, Beijing announced that it will open commercialization pilots for intelligent driving, which is of great significance to the intelligent driving industry. Currently, Luobo Kuaipei has launched autonomous driving mobility services in more than ten cities in China, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Wuhan, Changsha, and others.
Challenges and competition faced
Although unmanned driving technology is developing rapidly, there are still some limitations and challenges, such as handling road conditions and driving in complex weather conditions. In addition, the development of Luobo Kuaipei also poses challenges to traditional online car-hailing platforms such as Didi. Companies like Didi are actively seeking transformation and upgrading, increasing investment in the field of autonomous driving or exploring diversified businesses.
Progress in other cities
On June 17th, Baidu’s autonomous driving mobility service platform Luobo Kuaipei obtained the first batch of notices for unmanned commercialization pilots for intelligent connected vehicles issued by Pingshan District, Shenzhen, and can carry out L4-level unmanned commercial charging operations in Pingshan District, Shenzhen. Previously, Luobo Kuaipei’s fully unmanned autonomous driving operation services have been implemented in three cities: Beijing, Wuhan, and Chongqing.
User experience and evaluation
Some users believe that it has advantages such as no refusals, no detours, no cheating, no need to look at the driver’s face, and low prices. However, some netizens are worried that the popularization of AI will seize employment opportunities for ordinary people. Taxi drivers in some areas have felt business pressure. For example, taxi drivers in Wuhan, under the double blow of online car-hailing platforms such as Didi and Luobo Kuaipei, their business is shrinking day by day.
With the advancement of technology and the opening of pilots in more areas, the development trends of intelligent driving mobility platforms such as Luobo Kuaipei have attracted much attention. Its future development and its impact on the mobility market, employment, and other aspects remain to be further observed. At the same time, related factors such as regulations and policies, technological maturity, and public acceptance will also play an important role in its development
